OCS and CSM!!

What do those acronyms stand for you ask? The represent about 2 years of work and an amazing conference I get to attend this coming January. The OCS is a certification to specialize in orthopedics, to become an "Orthopedic Clinical Specialist". Of about 200,000 physical therapists in the states, only 6,800 have the OCS. After studying for months, some colleagues and I took the exam back in March and waited 3 long months for the results. As a result of passing this test, I get to travel to Combined Sections Meeting (CSM) this coming January in San Diego. (perfect timing with the cold weather here) The award ceremony to receive the OCS certificate is held at this conference along with courses and presentations of the top researches from all the physical therapy specialties. I just booked my plane ticket for a 5 day trip to attend as many of the courses as possible. Excited most to attend the running injuries and gait analysis ones! Good stuff.
